The surgery was performed on patients suffering from coronary artery disease (CAD), and the process included putting stents and balloons. A joystick is used by the patients, which picks up the procedure’s tools to remove blockage to resume blood flow. The doctor operated the robot while sitting in the cockpit. CAD is a life-threatening and common disease among Americans, which calls for the importance of innovative technologies for treatment.
