McMaster University and Spanish tech company Virtualware have revealed a new state-of-the-art virtual reality room at McMaster Innovation Park. In a four-year partnership with McMaster’s engineering programme, Virtualware showcased a custom-built virtual reality lab. The unveiling event saw the presence of Virtualware’s CEO, Unai Extremo, Spanish ambassador to Canada Alfredo Martínez Serrano, and other dignitaries. Extremo emphasised that the future of VR is already here and will continue to evolve, opening doors to infinite possibilities. Michael Rosas, the VP General Manager of Virtualware, expressed that Hamilton was an ideal location for their first VR space in Canada, envisioning it as a hub for VR industry growth. The lab, spanning 100 square metres, offers students, faculty, and businesses the chance to explore innovative applications of virtual reality tools and services.
