All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest airline, has launched the ANA GranWhale NFT Marketplace in collaboration with its subsidiary, ANA Neo. The platform focuses on aeronautical-themed nonfungible tokens (NFTs) and debuted with a collection by aerial photographer Luke Ozawa. The first digital photo, accompanied by the physical positive film used for its development, was sold through auction for 100,000 yen. ANA plans to release a second collection on June 7, featuring NFT images of their first Boeing 787 aircraft, available as 3D model aeroplanes for 7,870 yen each. ANA intends to expand its NFT product line and leverage NFT commercialization to enhance customer experiences. The GranWhale project by ANA Neo aims to create virtual travel experiences and metaverse parks using technologies like VR.
