As the lockdown lifts in the UK, people made frequent visits to buy groceries and the retail sector widely opened its doors. The grocery sales rose 5.7% to £31.6bn, as per the figures released by Kantar, a leading data and analytics firm. Take-home grocery sales rose by 6.5% and the online grocery sales halved to 46% because of the vaccination rollout bolstering consumers’ confidence to visit stores.
