HealthTap, a California-based healthcare provider, has announced strategic partnership with Samsung, the electronics giant, to leverage Samsung Smart TVs for provision of virtual healthcare in the US. Owners of Samsung TVs now have access to HealthTap’s services, enabling them to access the healthcare platform and video chat with a doctor using a linked television camera. In order to choose their chosen physician, patients may check a doctor’s biography and qualifications, watch video interviews with them, and then make an appointment to visit them. CEO of HealthTap, Sean Mehra, says that this empowers patients to take care in their own hands, which is critical for all Americans.
