One of Britain’s leading artificial intelligence experts, Catriona Campbell, claims that the solution to overpopulation is virtual children. She said that by the 2070s, augmented reality, AR glasses, and haptic touch-sensitive gloves would be able to offer a lifelike experience of a computer-generated baby, costing about $25 a month. Parents would also be able to interact with their child via Netflix subscription for $25 per month. The child would exist in the world of the metaverse, occupying no space, food, or environmental resources and she/he would live as long as one will be programmed to live. She believes that virtual babies are a long-term solution for parents seeking birth control and overpopulation.
