Sainsbury’s convenience store, SmartShop Pick & Go, has adopted Amazon’s cashier-less technology. The store is in London’s Holborn Circus district. This move makes Sainsbury the first international, third-party retailer to implement Amazon’s Just-walk out tech. Customers will use Sainsbury’s mobile app, which has the cashierless tech integrated, to scan and pay as they move out of the store. The latest tech has installed computer-vision cameras, weight sensors and deep-learning algorithms to detect products placed in the cart.
