ByteDance Ltd.’s TikTok, which was the most downloaded app in 2021, lagged behind Instagram and Meta to catch up with young consumers. Reels was first made available on Facebook by Meta in September of last year, and in February, access was opened to all users worldwide. Meta said that it will allow music makers to forge close relationships with their followers in order to bring back Facebook’s more conventional “family-and-friends” feed.
