Matthew Ball, a former Amazon video executive, wrote a book, “The Metaverse: And How It Will Revolutionise Everything.” He describes the metaverse in detail as well as the technological, commercial, and cultural changes necessary for it to exist. Ball considers that Disney will play a major role in its development in the metaverse. This is due, in part, to Disney’s strong intellectual property. The MCU and “Star Wars” alone might serve as the setting for innumerable metaverse universes. The Mandalorian and other series have made heavy use of virtual production, which has been pioneered by Disney’s ILM. Additionally, Disney aggressively promotes the development of both internal technology and industry standards, in addition to employing third-party solutions. This includes the USD file format, which was developed by Pixar and may be crucial to the development of 3D internet technology. That file format, according to Ball, “is the HTML of the metaverse,” and all these contributions will assist Disney in taking over the world of the metaverse successfully.
