The United States aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, but that is not an easily achievable target. However, McKinsey and Company has developed a pathway that can lead the US to its ultimate goals. Some of the changes included in the pathway are coal phase-out by 2025, 50% of natural gas replacement with biogas, hydrogen, and electricity by 2030 and reduction of oil and methane by 80% by 2030.
