The Kroger Co. has collaborated with NVIDIA, an American technology firm, to develop an AI-based application with services. The partners will establish an artificial intelligence lab to focus on the grocer’s freshness initiatives, logistics, supply chain, and in-store shopping experience. NVIDIA will improve Kroger’s store layout and other procedures by developing and monitoring virtual mirroring of the stores through a digital twin simulation programme. The AI-powered lab will be located in the Cincinnati-based headquarters office of Kroger. NVIDIA will use nine NVIDIA DGX A100 systems, NVIDIA InfiniBand networking, and NVIDIA RTX workstations to gather data from around 2,800 Kroger outlets in the US.
