Dapio, formerly known as Paymob, has raised $3.4M in a funding round led by African fintech giant Flutterwave. Dapio is a UK-based cashless payment solution provider for Android smartphones in the EMEA region. The fintech platform receives cashless payments in-store and its tech solution alters the back of Android smartphones into a financial card reading point. Co-founder and CEO Kosta Du said that this solution is for migrants to run their solo businesses. This Tap to Pay mobile app will make financial services like insurance, opening bank accounts and accepting payments easier to use for non-British business owners. Around 20 businesses are currently testing out the product of Dapio, and by the time it officially launches, the number will go up to 3,500.
