Instacart, a well-known Sans Francisco-based delivery platform, is adding more digital features to attract more tips for its personal shoppers from customers. The delivery platform has more than 600,000 personal shoppers who select, pack and deliver orders to consumers. Instacart will boost tips to add to safeguard the earnings of its shoppers. Customers often don’t tip the Instacart shoppers without specifying any solid reason, a practice called ‘tip baiting.’ The platform offers money to cover the amount of the initial tip up to $10 in case a customer doesn’t tip. The employees can withdraw their tips after two hours post-order delivery, down from 24-hour time.
