In September 2021, Procter & Gamble presented its goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2040, extending from raw materials to retail. It would be in alignment with the Paris agreement that aims to contain temperatures below 1.5 degrees Celsius. P&G has taken several steps in this direction. It has reduced emissions across its operations by 52% while working on the restoration of forests. It has also accelerated renewed electricity by 97%, and is expecting to reach 100% by 2030 by purchasing renewable energy certificates.
