In the past two years, the term “metaverse” has gained a lot of popularity as a buzzword. Mark Zuckerberg earlier this week shared a virtual reality selfie from the Horizon Worlds metaverse project developed by his firm. The selfie, which included the Eiffel Tower, was intended to signal the expansion of his metaverse. In comparison to contemporary video games, Facebook’s Horizon Worlds’ virtual reality environments and avatars are plain. Better, nicer-looking imagery and models than what we have seen so far in Facebook’s metaverse may be found in Nintendo DS and PS Vita games. Instead, Meta and Zucklehead are concentrating on creating a generic product that can be enjoyed by everyone, and Horizon Worlds may come up with appealing alternatives.
