A $56 million Series B investment round headed by Andreessen Horowitz has been completed for Ready Player Me, a cross-game avatar platform. The company develops three-dimensional digital avatars that can be used on more than 3,000 different apps to explore virtual worlds. In order to further their own metaverse research, major companies like Warner Bros., Dior, and Addidas have already chosen Ready Player Me as their partner. The need for synthetic characters to populate the metaverse has skyrocketed lately. Big brands like HTC and Nvidia are promoting their own virtual character models, while Inworld AI just secured $50 million for their virtual character maker.
