Colruyt, a Belgian supermarket chain, has officially launched its online grocery delivery service in Antwerp and Brussels. As of now, the Belgian market’s leading retailer only offers pick-ups from stores. The company announced to build more stores in Belgium, France, and Luxembourg. Jo Willemyns, the marketing manager at Colruyt said that the expansion into the cities would not happen through franchising. To offer prompt online deliveries to consumers, Colruyt is building a new logistics centre between Brussels and Antwerp to deliver orders in major cities in Belgium. Later on, the retailer will expand the digital offerings to other cities.
