Domino’s Pizza, faced with market pressures and rising costs, is breaking away from its traditional commitment to first-party-only delivery by partnering with Uber Eats and Postmates. The pizza chain plans to test the partnership in four markets, including Las Vegas, before expanding nationwide by the end of the year. This move will make Domino’s available to millions of new customers who rely on aggregator platforms for food delivery. The exclusive partnership with Uber Eats will extend until at least 2024, and it will pave the way for third-party delivery options in Uber’s international markets. While Domino’s will still handle the delivery with their own drivers, this strategic shift allows them to tap into a broader customer base. However, it does not address the ongoing driver shortages experienced by Domino’s. Despite the change, Domino’s remains committed to its carryout strategy and still encourages customers to use their e-commerce platform for coupons and loyalty programmes.
