This is the weekly snapshot of top grocery disruptions and trends in the Grocery industry (10th June- 16th June)

AI & Robotics: Galp launched its first-ever smart convenience store in partnership with Sensei, an autonomous store provider, near Lisbon Airport.

Store of the Future: Panera has launched its digital-only outlet, Panera To Go, in Chicago. This store won’t have any dine-in space for consumers. This ghost kitchen is the first of three similar stores in the country.

Online Grocery: Walmart teams up with the Avanlee Care app, a tool provider for caregivers of older adults, to widen its grocery delivery access to the elderly consumer base. 

Consumer Trends: German retailer Edeka has teamed up with Naturland, a German organic farming platform, to add more organic and ethically grown products to its grocery shelves.

Digital Supply Chain: Famous e-commerce entrepreneur Marc Lore founded Wonder, a food delivery startup, and it is now valued at $3.5 Billion. The startup raised $350 million in a recent funding round, as revealed by the Wall Street Journal.

Metaverse: Meta Platforms Inc. has decided to retract the idea of making its augmented reality glasses available to consumers due to multiple reasons.
