Allbirds, renowned for sustainable footwear, recently commenced selling select products like Tree Runners and Tree Breezers on Amazon starting November 14. Acknowledging the platform’s wider consumer reach, Allbirds aims to offer eco-friendly alternatives in a marketplace that typically lacks sustainability. Despite not viewing Amazon as a wholesale partner, the brand expands its distribution network, collaborating with retailers such as REI, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Public Lands, and Zalando. In tandem with this move, Allbirds unveiled new shoe lines like the Courier in August and an updated version of its inaugural sneaker, the Wool Runner, earlier this month. However, the brand faced a 21.2% year-over-year decline in net revenue in its third-quarter earnings, driven by reduced selling prices due to promotional activity. With a predicted net revenue decline of 15% to 22% in the fourth quarter, CEO Joey Zwillinger plans to revitalise sales by focusing on innovative assortments and refreshing existing designs.
