Modality.ai has developed a conversational AI-powered software that will be a substitution to in-person interviews that are considered necessary for people suffering from neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s. For years, during assessments of disorder-affected individuals, the key feature has been to note cognitive capacity, body language, and muscle use. Modality has devised a virtual conversational tool, named Tina, to whom the patient will answer the asked questions. The said technology assesses patients’ speech and employs computer vision to observe facial expressions. The CEO of Modality.ai, David Suendermann, informs that healthcare needed an upgrade from the conventional in-person interviews. Recently, Modality’s software has been categorised as a class II medical device by the FDA.
