The ABPI UK Pharma Reputation Index reveals that the public’s positive sentiment towards the pharmaceutical sector continues, with 67% acknowledging its commitment to creating new medicines for patient needs. Public favourability increased from 50% to 53% compared to last year, indicating growing trust, familiarity, and advocacy. Although pharmaceutical news has shifted from pandemic coverage, the sector maintains its positive trajectory. Surveyed individuals recognise the industry’s value, with 71% agreeing it produces effective medicines and employs skilled staff. However, concerns about new medicine availability due to cost pressures persist. Healthcare professionals (HCPs) also express support for the sector’s innovation and ethical standards, though transparency, pricing fairness, and profit-driven motives remain challenges. Effective communication and transparency are crucial for continued positive perception and support.
