Every grocer is transforming its retail outlets with the latest technology to deal with ongoing labour shortages and consumer demands. Hy-Vee is rolling out its self-checkout tech called Scan & Go to more stores. FutureProof Retail is developing the self-checkout tech for the grocer. To check out the stores, shoppers would install an app on their cell phones to scan products and pay in-app. Customers can scan a barcode on the scale screen to proceed with the checkout for weighted items like fruits and vegetables.
