Meta, the famous messaging platform, has partnered with Reliance Retail and Jio Platforms to launch JioMart, an online grocery store, through WhatsApp in India. The online grocery programme is under development. Upon its success, the commerce engine would be a grand revenue-generating medium for WhatsApp. The messaging app doesn’t run any ads yet. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, detailed that he is keen to launch JioMart, and it will be the first-ever end-to-end grocery shopping experience on WhatsApp. Isha Ambani, director at Reliance Retail Ventures, also confirmed the joint venture.
