Coles, the well-known Aussie retailer, has declared that it will sell off more than 710 of its Coles Express petrol stations across Australia. The retailer also revealed that it gained $300 million from Viva Energy for selling its petrol locations. Viva Energy has been supplying gas to Coles from its refinery located in Geelong. Viva Energy will still be a member of Flybuys and plans to reposition the petrol stations. Coles will also relocate its staff to the gas offering firm to help it expand the Express business. This deal will allow the Australian retailer to focus more on its liquor and grocery domains.
