Kroger plans to expand its online grocery business to Southwest Florida. It is unlikely for the grocer to have a physical store. The grocer is gearing up to offer online grocery delivery. Kroger is busy developing its customer fulfilment centre in Lake County that will have a mix of humans and bots. The fulfilment centre is going to be highly automated and will have more than 1,000 robots. The bots will sort the items ready for delivery and divide them into categories like perishable, fragile and raw items. This new facility is most likely to create around 180 new jobs in the vicinity.
